The AIRFoundry at the University of Pennsylvania supports academic, industry, and nonprofit partners through collaborative research, training, and service projects. These guidelines outline the general principles that govern intellectual property (IP) developed through AIRFoundry activities.

IP Guiding Principles for AIRFoundry:

  • Users of the AIRFoundry external to Penn will enter into appropriate agreements (ex: user agreement, services agreement, or collaboration agreement) further detailing intellectual property terms, and which will also address terms around proprietary information and tangible materials.
  • Inventorship of intellectual property (including inventions, discoveries, software, systems, protocols, materials, and workflows) developed during activities performed at the AIRFoundry will be in accordance with appliable U.S. intellectual property laws, the University of Pennsylvania’s Patent and Tangible Research Property Policies and Procedures, and the Bayh-Dole Act.
